Frequently Asked Questions

The sorts of things people ask the Network:

  • Does anyone have experience of attracting advertising on their websites? Any insight would be hugely appreciated.
  • We are looking to hire a small refrigerated van to make our deliveries. We were wondering if anyone had a van they wish to lease out for a few months or could recommend a person from whom we could lease a van at a reasonable price.
  • Is there anyone who uses a third party manufacturer that would be willing to provide an example of a commercial agreement, obviously with all confidential details removed? I would really appreciate any help, even a relatively basic agreement but covering the critical clauses would be great.
  • Does anyone one know of a digestive biscuit crumb that does not have too many additives (for Banoffi pie and cheesecakes etc). It doesn't need to be organic, just as natural as possible.
  • We are looking for a Contractor/Supplier for a new blast chiller for our factory, our current supplier has let us down previously hence our need for a new one. If you can recommend someone or any info would be much appreciated.
  • I am looking for a trademark lawyer. Does anyone have any suggestions, please? Thank you for all your suggestions for designers of logos. There is now a logo in the works (hence trademark lawyer required!).
  • I am trying to set up a catering unit at the moment and would love some advise in regard to extraction and canopy building. Has anyone had to install this type of hardware, if so is this something I can buy and self install? If not then does anyone have any contacts for someone who can build and install a system for me?

"And as an aside: The network has been a great resource for me. I have been able to save time resourcing products and services I need for my business by being able to just ask someone else in the business. I get an instant answer. Living in Northern Ireland it is a bit more difficult to do business. We lack resources for one and we lack the competiveness that makes most business do what they say they will do because there is no where else for us to go. So even if I find the product or service, a lot of the time they just don't show up. I have gone through 2 egg suppliers, 1 major supplier and 3 produce suppliers, because one day they just decided they wouldn't show up with our delivery even though they would say when called, we will be there in 20 minutes. Amazing, it truly is. And granted, being from California I was accustomed to companies fighting for your business and have tried not to have too many expectations, but if you want to make money you have to deliver the goods. Thanks again for the brilliant idea and hard work you do to create a great food community."
