I have just spent the past 4 weeks deliberating over new logos for www.thefoodnetwork.co.uk and www.notjustfood.co.uk…. the end results will be revealed in a few weeks when our new sites launch. Along with the decision on logo designs we tried to summarise each business into a short phrase that tells you what we do…. for the food network we arrived at ‘keeping the industry connected’ and for not just food we chose identifying opportunity, maximising result…. i am probably too close to my business to know if these are successful after all i know what I do …but I called upon a copy writing and marketing consultant to help me and give me an outside perspective..
A supplier of mine yesterday told me he was working on a new website aiming at making him the first stop for anyone wanting advice on PowerPoint …. he told me his ’success coach’ was pushing him to do it…it made me think isn’t a success coach much more descriptive than a business coach or life coach and isn’t it just so much clearer what he does…
Do you have a short name or strapline that makes it really clear what you do- do you use if every where on your profiles, business cards, envelopes etc?
Do people know from the first minute they are introduced , exactly what you are offering them?
