Welcome To The Food Network Forums

Welcome to The Food Network Forums.   All visitors may view the forums, and The Food Network members can post messages in all forums.  Simply click on the name of the forum and add a new thread, or browse the existing threads and post a reply.  You will need to be logged in using your new Food Network website username and password to post on the forums.

There are a wide range of settings to configure your forum account to meet your own personal needs and these can be found by pressing the button my setings at the top of the forums.  The most important of these settings is the tracking subscription settings.  If you check the checkbox in here for Job Vacancies for instance, when a food network member or Jane posts a message in this forum you will receive email notification of that post.  Please ensure that if you wish to subscribe to a post that you expand the forum fully by clicking on the + next to the name of the forum in Tracking  Subscriptions.

Fixed term contract or secondment opportunity until March 2012
We are seeking to appoint a Food Programme Officer and a Food Programme Support Officer to join the Transport and Environment unit at the Greater London Authority.
Successful candidates will have a successful track record of programme delivery and policy development, preferably with experience of working within, and an understanding of, the food agenda in London.  This currently covers a diverse range of issues including:
•    Improving Londoners’ health and reduce health inequalities via the food they eat
•    Reducing the negative environmental impacts of London’s food system
•    Supporting a vibrant food economy
•    Celebrating and promoting London’s food culture
•    Developing London’s food security

Candidates must have good analytical skills and a strong track record of developing evidence-based policy and translating policy into delivery on the ground.
You will work with a range of stakeholders, including members of the London Food Board, providing a strategic lead and supporting the delivery of priority programmes in the Mayor’s Food Strategy.

The posts are immediately available and we are looking for applicants who can start as soon as possible.  We welcome applications from candidates wishing to apply for these posts as a secondment opportunity.

Interviews will take place at City Hall week commencing 23rd November.
