Getting the best from The Food Network

To share messages with the list send them to tfn@email.sparklist.com

When you join the list, please send an email to the whole group saying who you are and the type of work you undertake. (If anyone has not done this already, could you please — it’s good to know who is on the list but we can’t release details of all members without contravening Data Protection Act).

Please make sure emails you send to the list have your email address (and other contact details you want to share- perhaps website) at the bottom of them so that anybody who is interested can reply direct to you rather than to the whole list.

When responding to an email, consider if your reply should go to the whole group or just to the originator of the message to which you are responding.

If you feel that the volume of mail is too high or intrusive when it arrives randomly through the day, you can email info@notjustfood.co.uk and put Sparklist Digest into your header and we will sign you up for a daily summary which gives you a list of all the emails sent the day previously (some days that does mean you would receive a blank daily summary though, as traffic is not that high).

The sparklist is a closed list; please use the same discretion that you would in a normal conversation. People on the list should not divulge the content to anyone not on the list except where they feel it is of benefit to both the originator of the initial message and the person you are forwarding the message to (If in doubt ask the originator).

Keep your contribution concise — try not to send lengthy emails when a few short sentences will do.

Do not attach anything — cut and paste it into the body of your document instead to reduce likelihood of viruses. Install and maintain virus detection software so you are less likely to spread viruses.

Try to use the ‘subject’ or ‘title’ of your email to indicate the content — then people who are not interested can delete it right away.

If your contact details change please advise us — if emails bounce back more than 4 times Sparklist automatically removes recipient’s details.

Please use the details in the member’s directory wisely — do not bombard other members with sales offers, special offers or regular emails — remember your details are in the directory too and we don’t imagine you want others to do it to you either.

Failure to follow these protocols may result in your removal or suspension from the list. (Please see the Terms and Conditions).
